Counterpoint in Three Parts

Reflexions on the Life and Loves of a Musician. Having progressed his compositions to a writing for a full symphony orchestra, Beal commissioned to write a small opera, with a libretto written by a12 year old girl in Dutch street slang. He wrote:

I enjoyed putting words to music so much, I decided to write a full opera. I asked several writers I knew to write me a libretto, but after waiting a year, I wrote the words as I went along myself.

This gave me great pleasure, so a few years later, I decided to write words without music. So started my first novel.

The novel is about a young jazz musician who tours a lot, playing at most of the jazz festivals around Europe. He has affairs with three very different women.

The structure apes that of a string quartet, divided into three movements, with each woman having her own theme, and movement, but interacting each with each other in counterpoint.
